My Beautiful Life

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I love it. I know the animals and environment will benefit from a decline in the human lifestyle, but I regret the teetering monetary system and the y2k bug that is looming with enough disruptive force to alter the status quo. I know I dont see a lot of happy faces on the streets, even though we are awash in cash, and are riding around in new cars, and the values of our holdings in properties and whatever are increasing. Even the crime waves are going down in the face of increasing wealth. Even the inner city guys have hope in the system.

I know that Mc Cain thinks greenspan is some hero, but facts are, the Fed is behaveing in a totally out of bounds fashion and they MUST know it. What murphys law factors are operateing now in the midst of this whole turn of the century are enough to increase the suffering of man and I plan to unplug my media sources on the new year eve and just play with the little kids in the house for a few weeks and ignore the world. Some will coast through this, but many around the world will find 2000 to be hellish.

I thank Ed Youdon for his help in getting my family to prep. And this forum of his here is filled with stellar posters. I wish all the best of attitudes and enthusiasm and resolve and determination to enjoy living this beautiful life. Come what may.

I am pissed!! Maybe not at you, but why are you kind of stupid? How can you retire? Take care of children? And still ask questions?? AND say thank you when your done??

Chill out Hatti. What else is one to do. We only have a few days left. Each to his own. You do your thing and let others do theirs. I am prepared and plan to do the same thing. Being p***ed off at the world will only get your blood pressure up. Enjoy what days you have left. Besides none of us really guaranteed another breath. What ever quality of life you have make the best of it. Go take a brisk walk in the cool morning.

"just play with the little kids in the house and ignore the world"

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

I am physicaly preped.

The real question is are we(I) moraly preped?

Whats wrong with playing with the kids in your house. What does morality have to do with this mans attitude. He didnt say that he was going to shoot the first person who comes to his door begging for food. What else can he do? Stand out on the street corner with a sign telling everybody that the world is coming to an end. I plan to do what he is doing but I will be available to friends and family. I am preparing to take care of several families as well as my own. It is not the end of the world just the beautiful American dream. Maybe the children of all of us will become the priority it should be once again, not just chasing the almight dollar.

Bill,

I too, understand where you are coming from. Also, I am most greatful for this forum and the insight presented by the various debates. No where else has the history of the issues surrounding Y2k been gathered in one place. Right or wrong, we each have made our choises for the gathering storm. I am reminded of the 3-legged stool where one is removed, the stool itself cannot stand. It may be Y2K is not one of these legs, though I have many doubts. The pressures against all 3 legs are enormous. Hence, it is prudent to prepare our lives for the future.

Let me remind you, Love is a conqueror. It endures all things, for better or worst, in the midst of chaos OR the highest calling of mans achievments. Love those kids today. Tomorrow may not bring our hearts desire nor give us the world we are acquainted with, yet we will survive because love has endured and carried THIS day.

I have noticed others who have said farewell. Each has contributed much. Each will be missed. It may be time for all to slow down and learn the real value of love as it applies to family, relationships and our neighbors. The lines of our future has already been drawn in the sand. I will miss you if you do not return.

As I read those posting here, many don't think as I do, or stand upon the same ground, posting with nick names, yet we come together with one purpose to share knowledge of the disruptive forces that MAY alter the status quo. In sharing, I get a feel for who you really are and desire to know you by name. You have all become my neighbors. I will be here both before and after the CDC rollover. In the days ahead take time to LOVE. Love never fails.

LOVE, "come what may"

Bill

Good idea, bugging out in your own home!

Home is where the heart is, and that is where you should be.

Hope you and yours have a mellow New Years.

Tommy, thanks. In the end, all that will be left is love.
