Pictorial Slams Preparer's in Cedar Rapids Gazette

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I wonder if this pictorial appeared in other news papers. I will try to describe it for your enjoyment or discust. There are two people looking at the sign in a window that read " 22 HOARDING DAYS 'TIL CHRISTMAS". The man in the picture responds by stating " THIS Y2K SCARE HAS BROUGHT OUT THE WORST IN US." It looks like a very well orchastrated movement afoot to place blame on those who chose to prepare. We are seeing this more thoughout the news media and I for one have to wonder why. If TSHTF are "PREPARERS" the ones they will turn to first to shift blame away from those truely responsible? Only time will tell and time is short..

I've mentioned this here before, but I sent a message out to some 60 newspaper poeple in northern California, along with info and links to the Bone Report, the GAO findings, problems with oil, and documentation about the the do-nothinbg of authorties. I asked them to remember this, so that if TSHTF they will remember who did nothing to help the public preapre. In short, I'm trying to get someone with access to the public primed to help out so we preparers won't be called filthy hoarders and dragged through the streets by our ankles.

I'd been asked by our local daily and our weekly to be interviewed for Y2K predicitons. I turned them down., Don't want my name in paper. But the weekly has siad they'd identify me as a local source only, so I may talk to them in an attempt to get the word out: Remember how your mayor and county supervisors worked thier butts off to tell you that it would be bad, and how they had weekly preparedness workshops?

Many newspapers have email addresses for the staff. Invest the time.

Bill Richardson on Oprah accused some people of going around trying to scare other people. Right on, Dude.

Hogwash! We've already decided to blame the programmers for civil failures, and hackers for .mil, remember?
