***Need help finding thread/report***

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

A while back, there was a report released by one of the 'alphabet agencies' -- either the DOD, the FBI, or the CIA, regarding the number of viruses/cyber-attacks they were anticipating prior to and during the rollover. My husband would very much like to have that thread/report for a planning session where he works; they will be discussing what they should do proactively to shield themselves from problems caused by the various viruses.

I've searched and searched, and have come up with several very closely related reports, but not the one I'm looking for...it has a definite number of incidents anticipated hat was quoted, not just 'many expected'. If I recall correctly (and I'm not certain I do), the number was in the thousands....

Can any of you help us? Many thanks in advance!

I think the number was 200,000. search on that text string, and see what you find... (I don't have the link).

Dennis,

You're a dear! I found what I was looking for thanks to your suggestion.

For those who were wondering what I was talking about, here's a link: 200,000 Viruses

If these estimates are right, it sounds like something right of a Samuel L. Bronkowitz production..... "That's Armageddon".
