Hi,

I heard that there are 3 different Tokina 28-70 version: Tokina 28-70 F2.8, Tokina 28-70 F2.6-2.8 pro, and Tokina 28-70 F2.6-2.8 Pro II. I just bought a Tokina AT-X 28-70 F2.6-2.8 lens from local dealer. It is a brand new one. I see "Tokina AT-X 28-70 F/2.6-2.8 Pro II" on the box and instruction, but I only see "Tokina AT-X 28-70 F/2.6-2.8 Pro" on the lens. Is the one I got a "pro version" or the "pro II version?"

I just bought this lens a few days ago. You're right about the "Pro II" designation not appearing on the lens. The difference between version I and II is that II has a sculptured bayonett type hood while the I has a round screw on type.
