WTO: Working member of the Press Attacked

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

LAURA LIVOTI, Managing director of the National Radio Project, Livoti was interviewing activists and onlookers on the corner of 6th and Union in Seattle on Tuesday morning. As the police began massing in full riot gear, Livoti - wearing her WTO press credentials - was telling a police officer that she was a journalist. Still, a policeman [badge number 4409] hit her in the back with a baton. She was then sprayed directly in the face with pepper spray and was blinded for 15 minutes until an activist medic treated her. Said Livoti: "Despite the fact that the officer clearly knew that I was a working member of the press, he attacked me."

Sheri,

What is this, the 5th thread on brutalities at WTO? Do us all a favor and post on the SAME thread. You're getting about as bad as the chemtrail spam here.

Dear Mr. Gezz

Please just stuff a sock in it friend. If the lady finds new news on a subject...I for one want to know the new information. Now why don't you crawl back into your little burrow, or under the bridge one.

Thank you Sheri for the updates, please continue your reporting on the current situation. And please disregard nut balls of this ilk.

Thank you for posting this, Sheri. Seattle is the Y2K Mini Preview -- clues abound.

The NRP is so far far left that it is almost right. Police badges numbers are a min of 5. Maybe Sheri is the one who has been knocked in the head.

Lefty,

Considering mine is #264, I think your statement actually applies to yourself instead of Cheri.

Sheri,

Thanks for your post. Keep up the great work!

All, if you want to make your voice heard, and protest WTO and the police brutalities, please see my "Defend your rights." thread I posted a day or so earlier. Every voice counts...

Thank you!

NBC showed a medic bashed. This is no good, people. But it does go to show...it can happen here, and often does.

Hunch: Somebody is trying deliberately to stir up hatred of the police among traditionally pro-police, law-abiding citizens.

Divide America so as to conquer it?
