Ok - last week I learned how to write a link. Thanks to the resident teachers :-)

Next question ... How do I include an image in a post?

Professional Student! Amateur when it comes to html.

Hey doggone ... would saying "Please" help? :-)

-- hiding in plain (sight@edge. of no-where), December 02, 1999.

Okay, that was mean. I posted your graphic with this command:

< img src="http://microimg.com/postcards/images/toon/comp8- lg.jpg" >

The only difference is that you take out the spaces. (If I'd left them in this message, it'd post the graphic again.) Heck, it still might. With no preview button, this is a gamble....

Sooo...

Is HTML code utilized on these boards...how about UBB code. Either of these turned on here?

Oops. The space between img and src has to be there. But you don't want any space before or after a < or a >.

Did that help?

Thanks Dog Gone. I appreciate the help.

I shall pray that there is an extra of your favorite doggy bones in your preps ... :-)

You can learn a ton simply by right mouse clicking on the page (usually, it depends on your browser version) and Viewing Source. All the cool HTML commands will show up and you can not only start to see the lingo, but you can easily go swipe stuff off of other web pages. If source shoplifting were a crime, I'd be on Death Row.

Well, if you ever get the feeling you're headed there Dog Gone ... there always room here in WY ... I have 4 dogs and a wolf for companions.

FYI, UBB code is a no-go. HTML only. Testing to follow:

I'm going to use parentheses but you must use the < and > instead for the ( and )

(img src="http://microimg.com/postcards/images/toon/comp8- lg.jpg")

follow the same format for any other image,...arrows to open and close instead of parentheses: (img src="THE URL/IMG LOCATION YOU WANT TO POINT TO")

Use a copy command (cntrl-c) over blocked addresses or file locations...the paste (cntrl-v)to put it where you want it....

and when in doubt,..look up to your VIEW command...select PAGE SOURCE..and see how those people do those links and images...best way to learn..seat of your pants...fly as you go....

I was packing my bags until I got to that wolf part.

The snakes down here in Texas don't always bite! ;^)

My wolf and I are both transplantees here from the Lone Star State ourselves. Spent 12 years working as a design and test instrumentation engineer for NASA contractors in Houston then a few years in telcom designing large scale telephone infrastructures.

NO it is not MY fault that they very well may not work before too much longer! I can't help it if the managers above me were mostly sales types rather than tech types. One of the BIG reasons for the BIG move. :-(

The pups are new arrivals, having been abandoned by someone at way too young an age. They could not have been more than a couple of weeks old on arrival. Lobo, my male wolf, immediately adopted them and has protected them as if they were his own. BTW: he is on 3/4 wolf - rest is Chow. :-)

He is a perfect angel. You oughta see him sit up to get his belly rubbed!
