Totally off topic... NTL... Looks like kernel 2.2.5 is secure (even from the 'fort' --- for those who follow my postings). Won't go into why I believe this, just an opinion.

2.2.5 ??? That's an old kernel...the latest stable one is 2.2.13 I believe. Most of the kernels are secure - if any holes are found a fix normally follows within a few hours. That's the advantage of open source - plenty of eyes to check it over for potential leaks ;-).FYI You can also add an extra level of security with the patches from www.kerneli.org .

I assume you NEVER log on the Internet while logged into the machine as ROOT? Otherwise, you have a disaster waiting to happen.
