Need links to old posts here re: SAP & other problems with Y2K-related changes in firms

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I asked this question in an earlier thread, got no responses but one encouragement and two polly trolls' smart aleck junk. They are SURE there aren't any answers, and that is why I had none there. So let me enlarge it and give it a new title:

Because I suggested to some of the secretaries today that they might wish to order their supplies a bit ahead, since I have been reading about many firms having supply chain problems due to the changeover to SAP System, etc., one of them really tried to make a fool of me in front of the others...not once, but twice. She said, "I am not about to change my [materialistic]life and what I am doing just because of..." and she trailed off. I said I didn't ask her to: I talked about having supplies on hand to conduct business.

I'd like to have a handout today for the secretaries, with the names of firms having problems with the replacement systems, such as SAP, which have been giving them production/distribution/payroll, etc., problems. All help appreciated! :-)

Try Cory Hamasaki's D.C. Weather Report for a names of SNAFU businesses. BTW Since a lot of the DWGIs don't give a damn about preparing their homes, what makes you think they give a damn about office supplies.

Check computerworld.com . Do a search for ERP, SAP, or the like -- they had a lot of this staff lately.
