If he only knew how much I really have heDe have a fit.Still trying to finish Christmas shopping. Need medicinal herbs, more diabetic supplies,oh yah and a snow board bag and the latest c.d. of which he will listen to for a week. Are you guys sure we aren't just over reacting? IS that tress or stress??

Just one thing at a time. Get some olive leaf extract for many of your medicianl herbs/natural antibiotics needs/reqs. order at www. eastparkresearch.com. sometimes they have a 2 for 1 deal for new customers. Order two cases of 12 each, then relax on this score.

None of my business really, but I'd think that if you're looking for anything of substance in regards to decisions on major life-affecting decisions -- from grocery store checkout girls -- you should keep in mind the axiom about getting what you pay for.

I realize that there are exceptions, but by and large, the Peter Principle has never been debunked.

I'd suggest contemplating that next time you consider milking a "service person" for significant information.

Hi,

Take a couple of deep breaths & remind yourself that you are a perfectly capable person...normally.

OK,got that. Now think of a situation where you were absolutely brilliant.

Hold that feeling.

Remember it.

Take time off to do something that makes you feel good or slightly wicked.Eat two cream cakes in secret or paint your nails a sexy colour.Doesn't have to take long but will make you smile.

Then get going again !!!!!

There are lots of us out here feeling much the same way.

Oh yes ... also recommend prioritizing. E.g., forget about the carpet for now .....

Try to slow the pace and take 5 minutes between each task. Play classical or inspirational music. Breathe deeply and slowly three times. Do it again. Stay nourished. Cut the coffee. Schedule preparation time. Do your best during that period and let it go for the day. Get enough sleep. Come talk to us.

Blessings and peace to you and your family.

Just remember that our dear president and Koskinen says that everything will be just fine. Right. That's why the federal government spent $50,000,000.00 on a command center specific for Y2K. That's why Clinton has promulgated a blizzard of Executive Orders. That's why the governments of Colorado and Los Angeles will be both spending 12/31/99 in an underground command bunker.

Everything is fine, go back to sleep. Moo. Moo.

$1500 for the chimney ? Have you gotten a second opinion on that?

If it really would cost that much to use the chimney, maybe you should just put the woodstove elsewhere and put in new stovepipe, that'd cost less than $1500.

I was a polly as late as August of this year!

Than I switched to doomer.

Did the wood stove, food, water, wrote to the newspapers, bugout bags, fought with the pollys in chat rooms, family thought that I had finally flipped out, blah, blah, blah.

Then I figured out that I felt better as a polly, so I switched back!

It's so easy and a lot of fun - you already know all the lines. Matter of fact, when you start speaking pollytalk, the pollys are dumbfounded! They really don't know what to make of it. Some of them even ask doomer-like questions.

Then I tell them that I could switch back to doomer if it gets really bad. ROFL.

Try it for a week!

Did you check on simply installin a liner in your chimney? It may be a bit cheaper and easier to maintain.

Just a thought.,

Thankyou everybody it's a new day and I'm feeling much better.Appreciate all the feed back.Guess it was just a touch of the doomer syndrome. I heard those are some of the symptems.HA!Self doubt, frustration, feelings of insanity you know, the usual stuff.Fortunately it didn't last too long and I'm my old doomer self again.Took note of all the comments and will apply them today. I love this forum.Thanks.

Tress, if you are having money trouble (that interferes with your preparations) during these last few precious weeks, perhaps this will help. Go to my website and read the article entitled "Finding Y2K Prep Time and $$". Items #1, 10, 29, 33, 42, and 52 all sound applicable to your situation, just from glancing through your above post. Hope you find something of use to you there. Oh, and I agree on just installing stovepipe for woodstove exhaust instead of spending a grand and a half on chimney repairs.

Home Depot (The orange place) sells stainless steel chimney liner that is like "flex hose." 6" in diameter, it will mate against regular stove pipe and is flexy enough to go around corners.

It's fairly thin so it likely won't last a real long time but you'll get at least two and likely 5 years before it starts to get "holes."

Also, instead of using a flue brush to clean your chimney, you could remove the line wholesale and "roll it around" on your lawn: the bending action breaks loose all the creosote which can then be dumped out one of the ends like you would empty a garden hose.

Worst and most dangerous part would be the time spent up on the ladder during installation and removal.

Best regards,
