...NOW IT STARTS!

It's here...The countdown starts in earnest now...Already I am feeling the first chills of apprehension...suddenly I am quite sure that the y2k snowball has slowly started to roll downhill, causing rising fear as it gains momentum. Get ready for a look at America as you've never imagined her. Soon now...soon. I know that each day will now rachet up the tension, the doubt of our leadership....the realisation that we are going to be alone...no phone...no internet..no clearly defined future. The big fear is coming...very soon..

Citizen:

Apprehension is an excellent warning system, just don't get carried away too much--many here can testify what it does for your will to carry on...

Hang in there, kiddo. You're "virtually" surrounded by real folks who are facing MULTIPLE THREATS to their welfare, future and very lives. Y2K is only one of 'em.

What about terrorists? Have you read lately about what Bin Laden is armed with and what he has planned?

What about Russia and/or China? Have you watched what they've been up to lately?

What about the overinflated speculative bubble of the stock market? An "adjustment" to reality will be very personal and painful!

What about the reckless aims of your "fearless leader" who does what he feels like with virtual impunity? The man's a traitor to your very constitution!

and the list goes on...

"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." --Romans 8:38-39

Just when we should be pulling together to address national vulnerabilities. well, I guess each person has a different list of which "vulnerabilities" they think deserves attention.

Kurt all good points,it really makes you wonder where/when the fuse will be lit! Perhaps y2k will put a stop to the kinds of technology that will kill us.....but it also stops the technology that can save us...

Ketchup on french fries! Jeesh.

This feeling may come in waves. sheeple are just to asleep to worry about anything but the next holiday (xmas). The only thing that could wake the sheeple is more stunts like the controlled one in Seattle. I wish I had a clue what TPTB are up to events could seriously spin out of control of even the "smartest" man and woman of the world.

Reminds me of a joke I heard once upon a time.

Plane was flying along. Aboard were the pilot, the pope, Henry Kissinger, a boy scout, an old man, and 4 parachutes.

In the middle of the flight, the pilot suddenly walks back into the passenger area, grabs a parachute - as as he dons it, he informs those aboard that in less than 5 minutes the plane was going to crash and there was nothing he could do to prevent it. He calmly opened the hatch and jumps.

The pope stands up and announces that the world can not possibly cope with his death - too many rely on him for spiritual guidence. With that he dons a chute and he too jumps.

Henry Kissinger rises - he too pulls on a chute - simply says - "Maintaining peace in the world is MY responsibility!" - and he jumps.

The smartest man in the world - rises - pulls on a chute - and as he jumps he is heard to say - "I am TOO smart to die."

The old man looks at the young boy before him. He tells the child that he has lived his life as best he could ... hands the child a chute ... "Son, go live your life."

Ths scout smiles, reaches behind the elder - and hands him another chute. Cheerfully announcing - "We both will live this time sir ... the smartest man in the world just jumped with my backpack!"
