Anybody want to start a pool on how long it will be, before someone blames the riot on I-695?

No, but I bet they blame the minimal anit riot force on lack of funding because of I-695.

Hopefully they won't try to bring the President close to the convention center. Did you see how they treated the delegates? Yikes! They say there will be National Gaurd there in the morning, so I guess we'll see. How long are the WTO meetings supposed to last?

This is taken from a current "Seattle Times" article and should be considered fair use.

"This morning, as protesters attempted to get inside the restricted area, police at Lenora and Westlake arrested them and loaded them onto Metro buses, filling one bus and about a third of an articulated bus, whose passengers had been unloaded by the police. At Westlake Park, police filled two more buses with protesters. The group there had brought protest signs and handcuffs to chain themselves together, but at the perimeter police searched them and seized the signs and handcuffs."

This is one way to increase metro's ridership.

"This is one way to increase metro's ridership. " And you better believe they'll count them, too! Along with the people in the ride free zones, and all the buses to Seahawks and Husky home games. Without the latter numbers, we would be continuing to show a DECREASE ridership in absolute terms as well as market share.
