Angry citizen

I will admit that I know little about programing. Ergo I am certainly not an expert on Y2K. However, since experts on both sides of the issue are miles apart on the 1 to 10 scale, I guess my 2 cents are as good (or bad ) as anyone elses. To tell the truth, I would likely be a polly on y2k under 'normal' circumstances. On the surface, according to our government(whom I would really like to think is sincerely concerned about my welfare)y2k will be almost a non-event. And all 'official' announcements are tireingly the same.I have almost let myself be swayed several times. But a little part of me says beware! It's the same part of me that watched my president shake his finger in my face avowing no sex with 'that woman'only to be confronted with his own damning DNA.It's the same part of me that listened to Clinton, his followers and lawyers veer away from honesty, and instead give us 'technically' correct truths. At that point in time, this citizen decided that I could never trust this man or his toadys again. So, right or wrong, I simply won't put my y2k trust in this man, whom I believe will put politics ahead of citizenery. And, perhaps unfairly, I mis-trust those who choose to work with him 'guilt by association'. I have chosen instead to listen to those, who, like myself are willing ( obligated? ) to consider the possible calamity of a systemic collapse. And even if we could put the odds at 5% that this would happen, I want to be prepared.I think most of us 'doomers' are well aware that we may very well step into the 21st century looking like mis-guided alarmists. When in fact, I think we are showing a maturity well above those who are afraid to step away from the mainstream of opinion simply because they might be embarassed...But I haven't said any thing here that hasn't already been said many times and certainly more eloquently. I wanted to rehash some of the above because I do have a point to make..And that is.......(1) If the president has been advised by experts that y2k would likely be a '5' or above, And if the president allowed politics or pressure from the banks and or other financial institutions (stock market) to indicate that y2k would fall in the 1 to 3 range......And if the country should suffer from his tainted desisions...Then I say it's time to give the president a ride out of Washington on a rail, dressed in tar and feathers. Mr. President, if in fact we do have a '5'or above, I expect there will be an investigation of all the conversations between you..y2k advisors and political advisors AND any one who for fear of financial loss 'persuaded' you to calm the publics fears. Is this an extreme thing to say to the leader of our beloved country, yes, of course it is..but, Mr. president,I think you've earned it.

Citizen, that was a passionate testimony. You don't stand alone.

Citizen:

Well said indeed.

Everyone:

Two "Borzelized" quotes from God's Book

1. A prudent man sees a storm coming and hides himself. 2. ...and in your wrath, remember mercy.

Again and again folks, you remain on my mind and in my prayers.

The pres will get a ride out on a rail in Jan.2001 regardless of what happens. If Y2K is a BITR the rail will end at the steps of the UN.If it is TEOTWAWKI the rail does a full circle and ushers in the "Eternal Pres."via EO's.Anything in between gives him dealers choice. The time has passed for true justice. From here on we get what we deserve.

Angry Citizen, this is not just directed at you...If I could just offer a little bit of advice - and I mean this in the nicest possible way - I think people are much more likely to read your entire post if you use the occasional paragraph. Those big blocks of type just make my eyes go buggy.

Thank you Citizen ... I think it was most eloquent and couldn't have said it better. The President's and the media's carelessness with our safety and well being will not go un-rewarded. They think we panic if we know the truth. If one looks at our history it is clear that we don't panic in the face of threats ... most of us rise to the occasion! I won't get hit by the train if I don't lie down on the tracks.
