Any ideas on making a homemade sausage stuffer? The ones in catalogs seem to go for over a hundred bucks.

Have you considered using a funnel.These used to be sold as hand sausage stuffers, but you could make one. They're best for small amounts, of course, unless you have a lot of time or no money. Get or make one with as wide a spout as possible to fit your casings.The spout on most kitchen funnels is too small.

Grandfather made one from a wine bottle by cutting the bottom off and removing sharp edges. Then he made a round plunger to fit inside the bottle. Attach the casing to the neck, stuff the bottle with meat,and fill the casing.
