NASDAQ is soaring on high volume.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Are the shareholders totally DGI's? Or are all the country's paranoids gathered onthis forum and constantly reinforcing each other's concerns?

Who has the answers for this seemingly impossible divergence?

Where are you that you can see the trading on a Sunday?

If you are just asking "in general"....yes we are the only ones, the chosen few, the higher IQ's of the world.

Feel better?

PA. I asked a general question. Have you seen the NASDAQ charts lately? My brother has a high IQ. One friend have an extremely high IQ. They both do not anticipate anything exiting in the near future. How high, or low, can my IQ be when I'm shaking at my keyboard?

He's looking at globex futures which begin trading on Sunday afternoon. This market is in the final phase of a huge speculative blowoff. You're friends may have big brains but no common sense.

I believe Merton Scholes and John Merriweather once were thought to be big brains as well.

heres a link to globex... http://www.cme.com/cgi-bin/gflash.cgi

Yes, I too don't think IQ has anything to do with it. Have you ever met a person that was "book" smart and common sence stupid? I have a sister in law that has a masters in Biology....she couldn't find her way out of a paper bag though. I on the other hand, am self educated, and can not only find my way out of a paper bag, I can make a paper bag out of saw dust if I had to.

It's not important that the "other" people don't see the semi coming down the road head on. If you're the one who can grab the steering wheel....save yourself!

It's called----"gettin while the gettins good" GREED!!

If you are an addictive gambler and you are aware that you may have to put the chips up for a couple months. I submit you will be at the heights of your addiction in the days before you pull the chips.

The same holds true for any addiction--be it Sex,Drugs, or MONEY!!!

The Music will come to an abrupt stop. The Soaring Volume lends itself to this arguement.

I meet these people almost every day of the week. People with diplomas from Universities of which I couldnt even imagine walking around the halls. Stupid as a wet sock when it comes to common sense or doing anything other than their profession.

I remember reading about a past crash whereby Sir Isaac Newton, a truly great scientific mind, was cleaned out in the investment scheme of his era. Greed is a powerful emotion. In the 1929 delusion, the bubble finally burst as the last available female investors were seduced into investment trusts. Don Christenson in his book "How to Survive the COming Mutual Fund Crises" said the game will be over in the 1990's when we start seeing seductive ads in womens magazines. Wait! LOOKS LIKE HE WAS WRONG!!

Within the past week I saw the host of Jeopardy (on CNBC)detailing the appropriateness of 13yr old kids involvement in mutual fund investing. This is now a clear signal that the game over,.... unless of course the family pets are allowed to join the frolic.

Same game, only the costumes, times, and names have changed. No one listens to history except those who have been burned.

Stocks are in the supernova phase, soon to be followed by the black hole phase. Just a few more greater fools left.

My cat disdains the stock market. He was told about the great crash of 1929 when everyone thought it would last forever and threw good money after bad... He is a very smart cat who has been storing Fancy Feast.

Thanks for the market update. Since you follow the markets so closely how often has the Gobex futures market for NASDAQ/SP500/DJI been wildly up or down and then quickly reversed after the markets open. Yes the trend for NASDAQ is still up, great yippee, but why does that mean that the market will always continue to go up forever? Why does it mean that you in your huge brainness can tell at the apex when the market has turned.

If you ride it and pull out perfectly more power to you, but most of the perma bulls new era prognosticators are as flakey as the perma bears. That last 10% profit can cost you your 90%.
