Defense of I695

How can this be?? I'm appalled. This weekend I overheard an Assistant Attorney General from the State of Washington bad-mouthing I695. Aren't these people supposed to be defending the measure? In her next breath, this same state employee was bragging about the fact that her office just arbitrarily gave her free vacation that she hasn't earned yet. She is a brand new employee. Isn't that my money the state is giving away free for no reason. I doubt this is an isolated case.

Gosh, you mean one of the 200 plus attorneys in the Attorney General's Office has a personal opinion about 695 that isn't in lockstep with 695 devotees. We definately need to get the mind washing team out to do some work on that assistant AG. Perhaps Bill Murray Ghostbuster's outfit (from the Ghostbuster's movies) can double up by doing mind washing as well as ghostbusting.

Umm, actually, you misunderstand the political intricacies here. This is the office which is supposed to defend the initiative. The point that many people have been making is that there is a fear that the Attorney General's office doesn't have it in their hearts to defend the measure. Foxes guarding the henhouse, if you will. Whether this assistant attorney has the right to make comments is not really the point. The point is, they're showing their hand. Their fly is unzipped. Our mistrust in our government is yet more reinforced by our government appointed defenders expressing their doubt in our case.

Assuming it's true, I'm glad he or she is making the comments. Just more ammunition for us.
