HORRIBLE DEATHS

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

There is a large group of people, over 100,000, who will die very horrible deaths if Y2K is more than a BITR. There is nothing they can do. They are doomed.

Who are these people? Hint, they are NOT cocaine or Heroin addicts.

Answer posted Tommorrow.

People who require frequent dialysis or who are in "iron lungs" or??

-- (very@sad.com), November 27, 1999.

Let me guess first: Organ transplant recipients? I've thought about that one, cuz' of a friend that has a kidney transplant. No anti- rejection drugs means slow horrible death.

Kook

Anyone who does not have access to water, anyone who ingests contaminated water, anyone requiring medication to sustain their life, victims of violence, and elderly people in rest homes. These people will go quickly.

Could be kidney dialysis because my mother died of that last year, my uncle of it about three weeks ago but it only takes three days or less before they die, after the kidneys shut down and no dialysis happens. Mother complained she could not breath, said she felt like she was smothering.

I would suggest if you know someone who will not get dialysis and is likely to die then have some concience numbing drug available to give them after about a day. My uncle had morphine don't know if you can get that without doctor.

Prison inmates. They will be abandoned and have no choice but to slowly eat themselves to death.

Dear DR Death, You are not even half slick. Did you leave off the last three zeros on purpose. The correct number should be 100,000,000 and that is for the US only. The worldwide number will be more like 3,000,000,000 and that is a very conservative number. You guys best wake up, and smell the roses. What many take as a parlor game, is about to turn into deadly reality!. A two weeks supply isn't gonna git it. You will need at least a years supply, and a nice hole to crawl into. Then you might have a chance of survival!!. Nice try Dr. Death, but they wont wake up untill its too late. Take care, HH.

Don't forget people with Heart Pacemakers which have embeded chips.

-- Mike Collins (mcollins@lcs.uk.com), November 27, 1999.

HH,

As you said, this isn't a game, where did the figures come from and the reason for that may deaths?

-- Maggie (aaa@aaa.com), November 27, 1999.

Sheesh. Pacemakers are fine.

I really don't care to contribute to this thread, but misinformation at this stage is uncalled for.

HIV positive victims in sub-Sahara Africa - but then that's going to happen without Y2K.

The audience of a kenny G concert. They will knaw off their arms and legs to escape whatever trap is imprisoning them and bleed to death.

Patients on life support, from ventilators to vasoactive drips.

-- nurse (RNCCRN@hospital.com), November 27, 1999.

AND THE WINNER IS;

Y2Kook. Transplant recipients are dependent on anti-rejection drugs. Can you imagine your body trying to throw out its new heart/kidney/liver/whatever.

Remember the question was "Horrible" death. We will all die sometime.

If you want SPECIFICS, as some here have posted about anyone on lif-saving medication, the I do believe the answer is TYPE I diabetics, and also dialysis/transplant patients. They need medication/treatment RIGHT NOW, and constantly.

However, there will be many tens of thousands who will die suddenly LATER, an example of this would be epileptics, asthmatics, etc.

But, if your question was a TRICK one, then I would have to say that the answer is all the smiling talking heads, spinmeisters, corporation heads, NWO types, pollies, and others who all said "not to worry, not to prepare". There WILL be vigilante justice meted out if this is more than a BITR, and I suspect that the figure may well be over what you have said. The year 2000 could see Darwinism at its most brutish, just as it is in all the rest of nature.

Sorry to be blunt, but that IS what will happen. I just hope that no one with these medical conditions reads this, although if they have thought about Y2K at all, they must realize the desperate straits they are to be in.

You are right my mother was diabetic then kidneys failed. Even with kidney dialysis her body got worse and then she finally died having just had dialysis two days before. It will be bad the first week or two after the rollover for some families, my sympathy to them.

The thing all these sick people dying made me think about is, if things come back to normal in 6 months. The drug companies are going to go broke as all the sick they have made a profit on all this time will be dead. I would think to hold onto their customers they would have fought harder to try to get people prepared. Guess they musta missed the point that all their customers will be dead.

-- Obo (susanwater@excite.com), November 27, 1999.

you folks have obviously never listened to kenny G.

-- zoobie (zoobiezoob@yahoo.com), November 27, 1999.

Um, sorry to burst this 'happy bubble', but where is the evidence that people with such conditions will not be able to receive their drugs after 1-1-2000? Or are you folks just (as happens all too often) stating your (misinformed) opinions, and treating them as fact?

-- Chicken Little (panic@forthebirds.net), November 27, 1999.

No big deal. I have recently joined a cult in Arizona that promises immortality. Yikes, how boring!

-- (immortal@my.portal), November 27, 1999.

To Chicken Little;

See one of the old Westergaard posts at y2ktimebomb.

70% of all Insulin on earth is made in one plant in Denmark. They use high tech re-combinent DNA technology to trick E.Coli bacteria into reproducing as insulin. Every Diabetic is betting on the computers at that plant that run the production line, payroll, shiping and recieving, the power and water company that supplies it, the government around it, the transportation system and customs system that gets it out of Denmark, The customs and transportation system that gets it into America, destributes it, retails it, pays for it and keeps the power to your home refrigerator.

If it looks like this is going to be a 6 or worse, kill them fast, don't let them suffer.

Can you say "Triage?" Would your time be better spent finding food and water for your wife and children, or trying to find an Oxygen tank for your gasping Grandpa?

Re transplant recipients:

Horrible pain, much confusion, terrible suffering!

Don't you wish Y2K was only a fallacy?

-- dinosaur (dinosaur@williams-net.com), November 27, 1999.

Gee, I stand in awe. Call it the "Year Two Thousand problem" instead of Y2K, state as of this insanely late date that smart people are hard at work fixing it, and voila, there is no need to worry about it. What a pathetic, stupid moron you are.

Chicken Little: You are also, just on general principle.
