Schools Shell Out For Insurance - (BALTIMORE) -- Baltimore school administrators are trying to explain why they've paid almost 300-thousand dollars for Y-2-K insurance. The "Baltimore Sun" is reporting that the school system signed a contract with an outside payroll company to be sure its workers got their paychecks... even if the district's computer payroll program crashed because of Y-2-k problems. The district could end up paying more than 600-thousand dollars if it needs the service through June.
