Why are companies not hiring Y2K remediators right now? No company wants to admit that they have not completed their critical tasks at this point--too risky, competitors might find out. Some of the worst prepared systems are being ignored, because who wants the peon programmers that turn over like pancakes to find out! I was the last programmer with more than two years service to leave my fortune 500 company last October. That includes the programming, system development and Q/A people including management two levels up as well.

How will they fare next year! They are toast because the worst system is the one that tracks revenue and receivables.
