General Chemical Question : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Does anyone have any advice on how I would go about finding out if there are any chemical manufacturing plants in my area?

Not much of a list. It found 1 (one) chemical plant in Iowa. There are a few more (100+) that were missed.

Maybe this link would help. It is zip specific and will lists nearby polluters. Maybe more chemical plants will be listed here. Just type your zip in the box and press 'GO'.

Let me know what you think. If this does not suit, I could look for more. My computer disk crashed last weekend, and the restore has been less than perfect. Links=toast.

EPA's zip code search is a starting point. Good luck.

If you click on the name of the companies, it will even tell you what chemicals are involved, how much toxic waste is presently being released, who manages the facility, etc. I found this site on another great site, that has a lot of good Y2K info.
