OT: Happy Thanksgiving to one and all.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

It has occurred to me that this holiday may be the last that we may be able to celebrate in a calm and normal manner. Christmas will be too close to the Show, for me to enjoy the company of family and friends as I would like to, without looking into their faces and wondering what pitfalls are ahead for us.

I hope that everyone (polys, doomers, lurkers, and posters) takes full advantage of Thanksgiving to enjoy the blessings we now have.

Many of us are taking full advantage of this special holiday...by purchasing last minute supplies on sale [canned pumpkin, condensed milk, sugar, flour, turkey (make jerky), etc.].

But we all hope everyone has a good one...

Yesterday is gone, we learn from it; tomorrow is an unknown, we prepare for it. Today is all we really have.

Look around ,look inside, and treasure the gifts you have been given. Hug the people you love and try to reach out to those in need.

STOP...take a deep breathe and listen....don't be so afraid of the future that you loose precious moments.

Best wishes to all...Happy Holidays..

Oops, I just saw the "silent running" handle in use on this forum by another poster. I'll change my name to "gato" .

Tomorrow I'll be watching my son play in what might be his last varsity football game. When the band comes on the field and plays, when everyone stands for the national anthem, when everyone cheers for their teams..the feeling of community..of tradition..I'll have tears in my eyes. I will sincerely miss those things if TSHTF. Give thanks for the good things. We'll lose a lot of wonderfull things if bad things come to pass. God bless us one and all. Please.
