I once heard stories of Public servants that existed in a time long ago.

In frequenting the forum I have discovered that they still exists, but don't work for the government.

I wholeheartedly agree with Dave...It's like the TB2000 Town Criers in action...

I'll drink to that. Many thanks to you all. A fine job handling the "you know who" problem.

I have had a couple of posts of mine deleted, but I can be a smart a$$ at times, and they probably should have been deleted. No hard feelings.

Keep up the good work, and thanks for making this the best place to stay informed.

d,

Thanks for your compliment. I regret greatly that I have not found things to do in my own real world community to *truly* make a difference there in regard to Y2K. In my own community, I would like to thank Sally Strackbein for her heroic efforts beyond the web (and her heroic patience). I admit that I have been unwilling to work locally with good people with whom I have had intense disagreements.

Sincerely, Stan Faryna

Amen to that --d!

Your selfless help and dedication towards waking up an ignorant people (myself included) to the interconnectedness, the fragility and the dangerous possibilities of disruption to our infrastructure plus the information to make CHOICES that may save our lives makes all of you heroes in my book.

You may vewry well be putting yourselves on the line to provide a free and unthankful service to all of us.

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for what you share of yourselves. We are grateful.

Stan, Stop being so modest. You and the others are doing so much for us here and we are all grateful! :)

Absolutely, we owe so much to these people. They are absolutely the backbone of the Yourdon Forum, and give selflessly so that all can benefit.

Regarding the SYSOPS in particular, I have noticed that in addition to booting out undesirable elements, the forum software as a whole seems wonderfully responsive AND not as prone to "drop" posts. There is still a delay in seeing the most recent posts, but seemingly once they are there they stay. This is a wonderful improvement in it's own right, and all of you are to be commended.

Maybe you haven't noticed, but Imager Brian really works his ass off.

And I mean work.

Absolutely concur. I might add, it will never be learned how many of our upcoming risks have been avoided or defeated as a result of the information and understanding contributed here.

My thanks.
