grind dried soybeans. add one cup ground soy slowly to one cup boiling water. remove from heat. cover. let sit 15 minutes. you have naturally sweet soy grits similar to cream o'wheat. Good stuff.

Hey, Val...will this make the same grits that I buy at the store? I hope so, as I have 50# of soy beans that I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them. Being, in reality, a damn Yankee, I like my grits with milk and sugan, not butter and salt and pepper.

Soy grits are far more nutritious than the (corn) grits you buy at the store. One cup corn grits 14 protein grams .. 125 carbohydrate grams ......one cup whole wheat flour 16 protein grams 85 carbohydrate grams ....... one cup raw dried soybeans 71 protein grams ...70 carbo gram. Just grind soybeans into flour and substitute for wheat flour in everything that you cook. No-one can tell the difference by taste or appearance......but your family will be better nourished. We NEED 80 protein grams each day just to maintain. See Adelle Davis "Let's eat right to keep fit" and Dr Atkins Diet Revolution. High protein and zilch carbohydrate is the path to strength and health. see www.soybean.com Lumen Fods Lake Charles La. Their milk replacer "Heaven on Earth" is great stuff. Mde from tofu powder extract, fructoise and guar gum. 12 oz H.O.E. to one gallon water. 8 oz liquid has 13 protein grams and only 7 carbo grams ......

Taz. All I can say to, or of, anyone who would put (shudder) milk and sugar on grits is this. There is JUST no accounting taste.

What do you mean by dried? If you have bag of soy beans and let them sit for two month, are they dried? Or do you need to do something to dry them?

when you buy soybeans in a sack they are dried already.
