OT; It is to laugh...

Watching the communist news network this morning and they are airing a piece on the outrageous price of gasoline in California. After a short spiel on how the oil companies have them by the family jewels they cut to the Cal. attorney general, who has been "investigating" the oil companies for illegal price manipulation. He comments that they seem to be structuring the system in a way to be able to charge the highest possible price for the gasoline, but haven't really done anything illegal since after all that is the whole point of capitalism. He would however really like to have "Another" million dollars of tax money to continue his investigation. This shouldn't be a problem since the state has recieved a windfall profit of over 100 million in sales tax revenue directly from the higher priced fuel. ROTFLMAO It is to Laugh. Can you say conflict of interest? What is the likelihood of the State government killing the golden goose? If they did by some miracle bust up this scam do you think they would refund the 100 million to the public?

Kind of reminds of what's going on between the gov't and the tobacco companies right now.

Calfornians have no one to blame but themselves for their high gas prices. They allowed the radical environmentalist buzzard huggers and leftists to hijack their state a long time ago. Reformulated gas and specially engineered cars cost money, and God forbid someone should build an new oil refinery or something else to improve the gas supply. Let em suffer the consequences of enviro-leftism. The spotted owls and kangaroo rats are laughing.
