A natural gas company blew a cloud of stink gas into the air today. This is the stuff that gives natural gas it's smell. They were doing a TEST! Did'nt say y2k, just a TEST! Hmmmmmmmmmm? People sick, people in shelters. Good thing it wasn't something dangerous.

What town, how many people?

I've been told by gas people that if they can't odorize the gas being piped up from the Gulf, the gas companies won't deliver the gas due to the risk of liability exposure of not being able to detect where the gas leaks might be. The Odorization Process is thus key in assuring non-interruption of natural gas delivery. Making sure those odorization plants work and have electricity will determine who has heat and who doesn't.

Washington County, South western PA. TV news report, morning news did not say company name at time of this post. It just happened. IF I hear tonight I will post info.

I concur with Lee. I had a repairman come out and check my old (compliant)gas stove. He was explaning it to me since I am new to gas cooking. He did tell me propane has no odor, so they add the "stink" odor in so you can tell when there is a leak. Truth!
