My car tabs are due by December 15, 1999. If I wait to purchase them until January 2000 will I pay the full amount or will I be able to pay the $30? I guess the question is "Do they base the fee on when the tabs are due or when you purchase them?"

Correction, you will pay $30 plus fees. Many counties have fees which have nothing to do with the MVET, which are on top of the basic license fee, now $30 since 695. Very few people will be paying $30 for their license tabs, regardless of 695.
