Meaning CA gas prices, which are already very high, will probably be what? And when?

/me wonders if Iraq doesn't have something up their sleeve.I sure hope we really don't see any oil problems with Y2K, because this crap will stack up in a hurry.

Where are Gordon and Downstreamer? Will we see three more dollars in a week with T-day on the horizon?
We better all hope that the weather continues to stay warm. A sustained cold snap (in the absence of any Y2K problems) pushes it to $35 a barrel without even stopping for gas.

I think it will easily hit $40 a barrel by the end of January. Does anyone know what the record high price is?
-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), November 22, 1999.
Somewhere around $41-$42 - at the start of the Gulf War.

Maybe Iraq is stopping because they can't pump over the rollover--not remediated.

That's the sweet part for SoSadman. He wins either way. If they shutdown early there is still a shock and he can win brownie points for his arab brethren at a cost of a couple weeks production. As long as they are producing plenty of oil will be smuggled out to friendlies.

An Environmentalist: Someone who throws a party when the price of gasoline doubles.Ahhhhhh, my allergies are better already!

Thanks Arnie, you're one smart dude. In that case I think we will set a new record, at least $50 a barrel by the end of first quater 2000.
-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), November 22, 1999.
Arnie is correct about the record crude price, but it was over $39 in 1980 - very close to the record.
