Will Broadway Pro work with Sound Blaster Live Platinum

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I'm building a new system and one of the items I'm putting in is a Broadway Pro for making VCD's. Before I spend another $150 on the sound card I'm looking at (Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live Platinum) I was wondering if anyone has used the Live card to capture the audio portion of an AVI or MPEG with the Broadway Pro card. Broadway's web site says that the sound card must be "Sound Blaster 16 compatible". Creative Labs web site describes the Live as having "Near perfect Sound Blaster 16 emulation."

Thanks, Bryan bryan.porter@nashville.com

Hey Bryan. I don't have the video card you're talking about, but I do have the Sound Blaster Live. I upgraded from SB 16. It's AWESOME! I can't imagine it not working with ANY video card. This sound card coupled with the 4 point Cambridge SoundWorks speakers from Creative sounds GREAT and allows you to mix your music easily and do a lot more with audio. Whatever Sound Blaster 16 could do, the 'Live' version can do MORE! The Live version the SB 16 emulator driver. I use the ATI All in Wonder 128 AGP version card. No problems from this end. Hope I've helped.
