Dennis, Don't bother. It was not worth watching. It was a low budget, poorly written and poorly acted movie. The first half showed some possible acts, but the last half was about people who were associated with a neuclear meltdown which was saved at the last moment and the movie ends with no idea as to what happened elsewhere. I would give it a one-half star rating.

I second HER$B. How anyone thought this could cause panic is beyond me. If I was DGI, it would have convinced me Y2K was basically a joke, or if not solved by a hero or two.

I Agree

Watched "X Files" instead, about a teenage brain-eating mutant working at a fast-food outlet. WAY more realistic & scarey.

the man asked for a copy of the video, not critiques by disappointed viewers. if you can help, help.

Not only was the movie cheap and of poor quality, but the acting wasn't too great either. And I noticed that in every part of the US that they showed in this movie looked as if it was summer, judging by the trees in full bloom. Certainly not early January weather. So HER$B is right, Dennis. Don't bother.

"teenage brain eating mutant working at a fast food outlet." Hmmm. Have you been holding out on us, Y2K Pro?

There was a Y2K movie on last night??? All I saw was a nuclear accident movie... poor Swedes... Of course, IMHO, most people didn't even watch the movie as it was across from "X-Files"... I know I was the only one in my household that watched the pathetic movie. Everyone else was in the living room glued to their precious "X-Files"...

The herd will raise it's head for a minute, and then go back to grazing... No problem?? OK... (chew, chew, chew)

snoozin'...

I have a copy for you. It is of good quality and free of commercials. If you want it, E-Mail me and we can work something out. I however don't think you will like it that much. But you can decide that for yourself. I do have to give the movie some credit though. IT IS ABOUT TIME SOMEONE MADE A MOVIE. However poor I thought the movie was, I was so happy to see someone took the time to inform the public (to an extent) of some of the possible problems we are faceing. I would like to add though, if you want to see a movie about some of the things that could happen, watch the movie "Trigger Effect". This is a movie about how people react to a nation wide power outage.

I concur with Cody. The movie "The Trigger Effect" is worth expending the time and money to watch for its value as a part of one's education about Y2K and its possible effects on the society we live in.

Good, Bad or Indifferent... the movie certainly stirred up a lot of local areas and their local newsmedia into responding.

Did awareness notch up?

Hard to say. But for those you did watch it, there may be a niggling little doubt in the backs of their minds prompting... "I wonder if...?"

Glad you connected to a tape Dennis.

It will spawn a typical two week media storm and then nothing more. "Sleep my precious, sleeeep!"

Did anyone see the movie "Inferno" that was on TV a while back? It was about a CME (or solar flare) coliding with earth.

I rented it the other day from the movie store, and found in comparison to the Y2K movie, it was much more realistic. If you want to get a better feeling for what "civil unrest" looks like, rent that movie.

As far as the Y2K movie, they should have spared us from the stupid nuclear plant scene. Although, it did effectively take away quite a bit from Y2K as a whole. It's like they threw too different movie scripts together at the last minute. (bad ones at that)
