This is what I thought I saw during the credits at the beginning of the movie, which I taped. I rewound it when the movie was over, and couldn't find that credit. Maybe my recorder didn't kick in right away, or they dragged the credits out too long. Anyway... can anyone verify the name of the producer? (not the director David Israel) If this is the same Patrick Cadell of Democratic polling and campaign spin fame, this is very interesting!

Like the Californian said, Caddell was the chief pollster for the Dems in the early eighties. Instrumental in the first Klinton campaign. Before Paul Begala,there was Pat Caddell. Tres interessant that he produced this soporific: confirms my fevered speculation that the whole thing was a put-on: feed 'em some meat, heavily laced with Versed.

Make the people laugh at how lame the whole thing is.

Get them hooked in the beginning with a bunch of quick-moving incidents, a little potential, and then lame it out into a laugh-fest with ever-worsening high school acting and script toward the end.

Whew! Yeah, sorry, that's my typo. I was in a hurry & couldn't get back to the computer screen until now, many hours later. Damn, this is huge! Not that we didn't already know that this movie would be much monitored by TPTB for appropriate content, but this really demonstrates that it is so true. I had never encountered the "instrument of deception" article. This is so sleezy. Thanks to all those who followed up. I think this deserves some more probing. It seems likely to turn up some interesting stuff. I can't believe they actually put his name on it!

Well I'm not the least bit surprised. After all the whole message of the movie simply consisted of "Don't panic, the government will save you." What a crock of shit.

Worse Nikoli... it gave the impression that Y2K is sort of like an earthquake (or the oft mentioned hurricane).. in that the "glitches" were widely scattered and so sudden that there was no time to do anything much, and if you weren't in the immediate area it wasn't your problem. Everything happened within one 24-hour period and there was not the slightest hint that there might be lasting effects (not even time to find out if blackout might last), or that advance preparations should be made by individuals. Hmmm... I take that back... there was that ONE guy who probably represented the Megiddo vision of preppers... and he got himself shot. Great message, right?

A poor movie with unrealistic scenarios put in a time slot that pitted it against the number one show (Who wants to be a millionaire).... produced by someone who KNOWS all about using the media as "Instruments of Deception".

Just all part of the plan.

Same article as mentioned above... really interesting. Especially as a layer of the onion of Y2K. Stuff we sort of know but it looks so much worse in black and white. So deliberate.
