THE NEW TBY2K POLICY IS MADE TO ENSURE THAT NO OTHER OPINIONS OTHER THAN THAT OF A FEW SELECT SYSOPS GET THROUGH. IT IS NOT CENSORSHIP, IT IS A GROSS INFRINGEMENT OF THE RIGHT OF FREE SPEECH. THIS IS TOTALLY UNAMERICAN AND A SIGN THAT THERE CAN BE NO UNBIASED DISCUSSION ON THIS FORUM. SPREAD THE WORD, E-MAIL M.I.T, CALL GREENSPUN, THE SYSOPS ARE OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!!!

Like it said previously. This is an EXCLUSIVE club. If you don't like it here GO AWAY.

You don't even know what censorship is... IDIOT...

-- STFrancis (STFrancis@heaven.com), November 19, 1999.

since your opinions are irrelevant, they need not be heard. people like do not deserve freedom of speech.

It'll keep getting worse until we just get rid of all the stupid pollys.

-- (brett@miklos.org), November 19, 1999.

And on what fact are you basing these capitalized opinions?

Can you spell, PASSWORD?

-- What (AStupid@prank.com), November 19, 1999.

This person needs to be PERMANENTLY blocked from posting here anymore.

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), November 19, 1999.

In a totally open system, I think that it is important that idiots be allowed to post.

Best wishes,,

Posting is one thing, but there is no need for malicious spamming.

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), November 19, 1999.

A droll and excellent solution. Far better to leave one of these on than delete them all.

Good thinking.......

-- mushroom (mushroom_bs_too_long@yahoo.com), November 19, 1999.

If people who know nothing were eliminated, I would be excluded. Sysops have handled this fine. We can go on.

Best wishes,,,,,

-- Z1X4Y7 (Z1X4Y7@aol.com), November 19, 1999.

Ah yes... leave just ONE thread so you appear to be unbiased. That is very much a politcally correct thing to do but I can see through it.

Because you see, scroll up through the NUMEROUS personal attacks and insults that go undeleted and your unbiased, PC BS is so easily seen through for the hypocrisy that it is.

-- (you@know.who), November 19, 1999.

This forum is intended for people who are concerned about the impact of the Y2000 problem on their personal lives, and who want to discuss various fallback contingency plans with other like-minded people. It's not intended to provide advice/guidance for solving Y2000 problems within an IT organization.

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), November 19, 1999.

Hey, if you weren't so malicious you would have just posted ONE message to begin with. That would have served the purpose WITHOUT spamming.

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), November 19, 1999.

No it wouldn't have Hawk, because like I said, if I had just posted one it would have been deleted outright and nobody would have seen.

But now that lost of people saw the threads the Sysops would look like tryants if they destroyed them all. But of couse, this is just to save face. A tactic that is usually an indicator of deception.

I don't make infantile insults against anyone... and yet I'M the one being censored/deleted/banned.

Absolutely priceless. I think I'll come back tomorrow and start all over again with a new deluge.

-- (you@know.who), November 19, 1999.

YOu know,

NOne of your recent posts have been deleted. what are you whining about?

-- (polly@troll.com), November 19, 1999.

Friday at the Y2K Corral. Never a dull moment.

-- I'm Here, I'm There (I'm Everywhere@so.beware), November 19, 1999.

Does this illustrates the general level of your contributions?

<< and yet I'M the one being censored/deleted/banned.

-- (you@know.who), November 19, 1999. >>

So, please tell me, what is the reason for this "deluge" - if you have nothing to add, don't pollute the data base here with your presence....you can add any particular useful opinions you wish, just contribute something useful to the rest of us.

-- Robert A. Cook, PE (Marietta, GA) (cook.r@csaatl.com), November 19, 1999.

Not only *doesn't* he go play in the traffic like a good little troll, but he has to now pollute the *index* by using it to write a book.

Can you say "attempted denial-of-service attack via trying to overflow the subject line buffer"?

I knew you could.

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), November 19, 1999.

There are hundreds of thousands of moderated discussion forums on the internet. You are free to start you own forum if you don't like this one. That's what free speech is all about.

-- Danny (dcox@ix.netcom.com), November 19, 1999.

I certainly respect the right of everyone to be heard. But when it comes to discussion forums, I do believe that some simple rules and guidelines are entirely in order. NOT to censor, but rather to stop the useless display of arrogance, petty anger and poor judgement like that which we witnessed today. To illustrate this position, I cut and paste the following from a few posts back in this thread...

>>>. I think I'll come back tomorrow and start all over again with a new deluge. <<<

It is EXACTLY that kind of attitude and conduct that does nothing but disrupt the forum and bring the wrath of forum residents out in the open.

You have every right to disagree. You do not have the right to be disruptive and/or abusive. Think about it.

-- Irving (irvingf@myremarq.com), November 19, 1999.

youknowho Schmuck,

No one here cares who you are or what you "think", if in fact you do.

I would hope that the more intelligent people on this forum automatically dismiss anything you have to say. On the other hand, many of us are simply annoyed, as we might be when a person with very bad breath repeatedly asks "what t-hime-is-it?".

Good luck exiting the gene pool.

Yeah,well,I remember my first beer.

-- zoobie (zoobiezoob@yahoo.com), November 20, 1999.

I think this entire protest business is getting out of hand, and is becoming disruptive to our normal flow of news and information. Diane and any of the Sysops have the right to delete wherever they see fit, especially if certain posters have a consistent track record of posts which are antogonistic to the mission statement of this forum. I have been posting for about a year and a half and have never been undeservedly deleted or "lied to."

SYSOPS, I vote to delete all of these slanderous threads which are accusing you of unfairness and lying, so that we can get back to important news and Y2K issues, which is the clearly defined objective of this forum.

-- Hawk (flyin@high.again), November 20, 1999.

"

Hawk and many others are absolutely correct on this Diane. This YouKnowWho person needed a mother to help him learn about life, not a moderator. I empathise with the sysops's frustration. Please Diane and all other sysops, delete this individual on sight, as much as you wish and have time to do so.

-- Chris (#$%^&@pond.com), November 20, 1999.

Diane....don't 'mother' him. Spank his rotten little tush and don't let him come back.

-- Lobo (atthelair@yahoo.com), November 20, 1999.

Dear person:

If you feel you are being discriminated against then do what everybody else does......get a lawyer and sue somebody.

Remember your rights end where my nose begins...any questions?
