Seen It With My own eyes

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

You know you see it here and you skim over it.. you hear from someones friends friend.. but today i saw something that has confirmed that we're in for the time of our lives. Quite a few posts about large semi trucks park by K mart, wal mart etc..Today they put 30 semis at the hazel Park racetrack, all lined up, locked up, and between about every ten semi's was a box made of wood about 8'x8'x6' with slow moveing reflective triangles on all sides..no idea what that could be...This is to get the goods out of the stores, mre for troops and people, filled with blankets. but they were not for rent as someone has suggested.. Hang on, here we go...You know this could be the worst thing we have ever faced or it could be like all our families and brother in laws say no big deal, but i have to tell ya THIS HAS BEEN ONE HELL OF A RIDE these past few yrs.. good luck to everyone and I'll see ya on the other side..and I'll never look back as some folks have and thought they were fools for prepareing, this could have or will be the worst our kids will have to face Im glad I had the BLs to stand up and do the right thing for them...God Bless

The trailers are locked. How did you find out what they're for?

Hey, I walked into Safeway and the first thing
I see is this mountain, 15'x15'x15' of toilet
paper. :-'
Too bad, I already got mine. :-}

Perhaps "Y2K Pro" was sighted in that area, and the Safeway manager, knowing that "Y2K Pro" was full of $hit, thought there was a substantial potential profit to be made!

Don't want to sound like a smart a$$, but seeing as theese semi's are at a racetrack, could they possibly be holding race cars?

This time of year always sees an increase in storage trailors at our local Wal Mart. They bring the trailers in for Lay A Ways and extra merchandise for the holidays. Wal MArt does not have a large storage area inside their building. Probably the same with K mart. As for the trailors at the race track, I don't know.

-- Linda (adahi@muhlon.com), November 19, 1999.

They don't have to bring in semi-trailer trucks to store extra's. WalMart, K-Mart, etc., bring in shipments everyday. Stores like WalMart, K-Mart, rent warehouse or empty store space in the same city as their store to store extra merchandise. Ever wonder why there's so many warehouses around? During the floods, schools and churches were opened up for the homeless because the infrastructure is there. Those trailers parked around could have food, water, and body bags in them, someone needs to snoop and find out.

THE DENIAL IS SO DEEP YOU COULD DROWN!! give me a break. i have been alive and breathing for years and I have never seen these trailers EVER anywhere and now they are popping up all over the place. we are going to see lots of things over the next month as people prepare and batten down the hatches. you can be a polly for a bit longer--but eventually the truth is just going to "happen".

Gawd how I depise posts like this!!!

Slooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww down!!

Ya know when you go to save someone from drowning and they are panicked, what usually happens???

I bought the last two cases of canning jars at Walmart the other day. Last night I went back to see when they would be getting more. I talked with the lady who purchases for that department and she told me she "will not be ordering anymore at this time". I asked her why not and she replied "because they are not available".

Same thing happening around here.....local K-Mart and WallyWorld with dozens of storage containers outside where we've not seen such before. I might be rather concerned if I saw these stored at the local fairgrounds and/or vets building (where they Red Cross usually set up when it hits the fan). If they're preloading the supply chain and setting up a buffer of sorts I'll be quite pleased.

Canning supplies are a seasonal purchase in most normal years. November is well past the peak season for selling canning supplies. Most stores would not be restocking at this date. They need the shelf space for things that sell for Christmas. No doubt Y2K has placed some extra demands on the supply of canning equipment, but it was likely to be pretty thin in November, no matter what.

This topic was covered yesterday on another thread. Wal-Mart Y2K sighting. I called a friend of mine yesterday that works for Wal-Mart she said they do this every year. I never noticed them until I read the thread yesterday, I drove over there to look. Now as far a the race track, I don't have a clue..I will say our local Wal-Mart does have more camping equipment then they have ever had, I buy this stuff for my sons for christmas, just about every year, shoot, they even had MREs now I never noticed them before, but then again I never looked. I have also had a hard time finding canning jars, but most people don't can anymore so the stores don't keep as many as they use to, no demand. Got most of mine from garage sells, $2.00 a case...

20 trailors at sams club in pittsburgh, havent evere seen this before, maybe they are prepositioning the supplies for some type of "EVENT".

Sorry, Brian, true story on the canning jars. People ARE stocking up on them and they ARE in short supply, basically unavailable to retailers for the rest of this year. And retailers (supermarkets, at least) usually do not sell through their summer supply and just keep them til the next season.

-- StanTheMan (heidrich@presys.com), November 19, 1999.

I recently bought two cases of canning jars at the grocery store here in town. They also carry the extra lids and other canning supplies.I live in Missouri.

From: Y2K, ` la Carte by Dancr (pic), near Monterey, California

I haven't been able to get canning jars since June in any of the places I've looked (checking each place weekly since that time): my regular grocery store, two othe grocery stores, two hardware stores... I put in special orders at all of these, and they never came.

BTW, the originator of this thread could have chosen a much better title for it. Nobody can tell if they will be interested with such a vague wording. I clicked on it because I thought it might be about chemtrails. ahahaha

In a thread on the Humpty Dumpty board, I read this:

And the all important question - why did the gov't have tens of thousands of signs made declaring "This location under MARTIAL LAW". Don't sigh and say they didn't. We have proof that they did and that they were being shipped in innocuous Wal-Mart tractor trailers.

Hey, Steeler, maybe they're getting ready to batten down the 'Burgh. Ya think?
