with all the so called Y2K information in the USA why is there a lack of it in the UK. According to reports in the USA the UK is up to speed with the problem, we as the public have little info supplied by our govenment. If there is genuine documented discrepancies between companies public statements and private statements why is the world press not interested. why is koskinen and garvy not flying ?

The free press has lost its edge. They mainstream media mainly report form themselves not their audience. There is no grand conspiracy but just a loss of ability to remove themselves from the story. The late 1970's the concept of "you cannot make a totally unbiased story" became a convenient excuse to not even try. Now we have individuals trying to make themselves stars leading to the press pandering to the press.

The cuts and need to fill space means that most of the stories are just press releases and AP stories reprinted. There is no time between teh lazy rewriters and the anointed ones for information to be passed to the masses.
