Did anyone else see Matt Lauer interview Bette Midler?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

...he asked her if she was worried about Y2K and she said something like "I think everyone's concerned and thinking about it", he again tried to pin her on the question about "prepping", and she said something like "for 5 years" or something like that? Can someone see if the transripts of this interview are posted on their web sight?

This must be Matt's new thing--ask stars if they're prepping. A few days ago he asked AAHNold the same question and wouldn't let him shrugg it off. AAhnold said Maria was taking care of it, and he was not worried at all.

My guess is that Matt Lauer isn't earning a lot of brownie points for bringing it up...

...unless maybe NBC has just figured, "What the ****," and decided to be the burr in the establishment saddle on Y2k.

Isn't NBC the one that's going to air that y2k movie? It seems Matt Lauer's job is getting the folks watching his show curious/nervous about y2k.

I saw it and she said no such thing about 5 yrs.She was asked what she was going to do the first of January at midnight and she said ,hopefully the lights will still be on and I will be able to get to my room.He started in on her and she was concernrd obviously anyone watching new she was preparing and she said yes she was worried. These are not exact words or in order, but it startled me she admitted she felt there could be a big problem.

I would find it unwatchable. Oprah Winfrey, Rosie and Roseann, Robin Williams, Bette Midler--I shudder to think of them. Sic transit gloria mundi.
