70's, 80's, 90's....now what?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

We are in the ninety's,what's next, 00's? Heard someone the other say suggest the oh,oh's. Double zilch's?

Also, we may be headed for Y2Kflation. Price of things like food and fuel go way up, while the items nobody wants like furnishings, boats, new cars, and real estate plummets.

OH,OH's are coming....

No they're called the oughts. 1901 was called ought 1, ought 2 and so on. Spelling may be wrong.

first post didn't go. The years are called oughts. ought one, 2001, ought two 2002, etc. Spelling may be incorrect but I know that's what the said in 1901.

Um, Mr. bus? What do you plan on calling the whole decade?

-- (ought@this.please), November 18, 1999.

The 1990's should be called the "roaring 90's". The next 10 years will end up as the decade of misery, or something like that...

How about the "nuggets", "holes", "zilches"?
Actually I agree with if@itis.. and short@bus..
It's like you doofusi who should know better still WRITING dates as 11/18/99 or 1/1/00. Is it too much frickin' effort to do it YYYY-MM-DD, e.g. 1999-11-18 or 2000-01-01?

I thought the Y2K problem was fixed, it is about using 2 digit years, isn't it. Am I missing something, or are the one's not using a 4 digit year simply not mission critical ??????

-- What (DoesFixed@Mean.00), November 18, 1999.

--the double ought's. first year is that, then double ought 1, double ought two, etc. --makes sense to me zog

-- zog (zzoggy@yahoo.com), November 18, 1999.

Flint aptly put it as 'The Age of Exasperation'.

-- flora (***@__._), November 18, 1999.

I hope it doesn't turn out to be the "uh ohs".

-- plonk! (realaddress@hotmail.com), November 18, 1999.

What EVER we do let's NOT call them the "oughts".

I have enough of that around my house now and can't stand the thought of 10 years worth of it.

You know:

The wife says you OUGHT to mow the lawn.

You ought to haul off all the empty spam cans.

You ought to clean out the bean pot.

You ought to this and you ought to that....

I cain't take it anymore!!
