Center for Year 2000 Community Action Plans Releases Y2K Training Video - Just in Time, Just in Case WASHINGTON, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- On November 17, 1999, The Center for Year 2000 Community Action Plans (``CYTCAP''), in conjunction with Public Technology, Inc. (``PTI'') and Global Action Plan (``GAP'') as part of the national Y2K and You contingency planning outreach effort, will be releasing to local television stations nationwide a 30 minute information and training video entitled ``Y2K Contingency Planning: Just in Time, Just in Case'' to help facilitate the completion of community-wide Y2K contingency plans. The Y2K and You training program, of which the video is an integral part, is endorsed by the National League of Cities, National Association of Counties and the International City/County Management Association. The release of the video purposefully coincides with the November 21, 1999 airing of the NBC Y2K movie. Its aim is to promote community ``team spirit'' in our final Y2K preparedness efforts.

In conjunction with the release of the video and the airing of the NBC movie, Senator Gordon Smith (Oregon) of the Senate Special Committee on the Year 2000 Technology Problem has agreed to make himself available, on a limited basis, for interviews.

Y2K Contingency Planning: Just in Time, Just in Case offers 15 action items to provide community leaders the tools they need to be prepared for and to help prevent potential Y2K disruptions, including possible strains on electrical, medical, fire and other critical infrastructure services.
