Need more definitions........

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I've been reading the messages on this board for some time now, and I still can't figure out what GI means, or OT (could it be "off topic"?), and some of the other terms used here. Could someone list all the abbreviations used.

The term GI seems to have developed two distinct definitions:

1) Majority definition. Someone who realizes there are lots of date bugs that won't be fixed, posing a threat of real problems, extent unknown.

2) Minority definition. Someone who has come to the unshakeable conclusion that everything is going down, taking everything else with it, in an unstoppable chain reaction.

Having two very different uses for the same term leads to occasional failure to communicate very well.

I understand that the letters "OT" stand for "off topic". But considering the non-stop stories about contrails, solar flares, airplane crash conspiracies, etc, etc, etc, *WHAT*, pray tell, could even remotely be considered off topic for this forum any more?

OT would probably be Jello wrestling...

O.K. Now what does LOL mean?

LOL= laughing out loud, or, lots of luck (usually the former)

'Do you like to mudwrestle?'

A stress-relieving interjection by a member of royalty, who, if he wasn't blessed with so much charm, might be considered a total armhole.
