If anyone was smart enough to reliably predict what will happen on the stock market, they wouldn't be dumb enough to publish those predictions, which is why I think articles like this are purest speculation.
On the other hand, there are people with the grunt to MAKE things happen on the stock market. And sometimes, just sometimes, they are stupid enough to tell the market what they are about to do.
There's just such a < a href ="http://www.frbsf.org/fiservices/cdc.local/cash/contingency.htmlpredi ction>">prediction right here from the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank. The scary part is that they advise their banks to sell 2000 securities and buy 1999 securities, and they've foolishly publicised it, which will MAKE it happen, even if it's not the banks that actually do it. How is that going to look to the market, the press, and Joe Blow?
