Has anyone found texts on the SAFE hand digging of:mines,well pits,tunnels,root cellars?With earth weighing over 2700lbs/yd^3,a collasped structure=an instant[literal]grave.I haven't had luck even through outfits like Loompanics.

There was an article about digging wells in an issue of countryside some time ago. I have all my back issues packed away, so i can't look it up right now. I'm sure someone can reference what issue it was. It was a rather detailed article, if i remember correctly. Good Luck! DAN
