OT? Yardeni's "softening" is temporary due to........

Perhaps Homer's recent post has some "hidden" agenda..Deutsche Bank COULD be in hot pursuit of a major Wall Street based firm. His "softening" comment MAY be due to his holdings in his own company stock. At this posting, Merrill Lynch is up 6 dollars,Paine Webber is up 3....... Let's watch this closely for the next few days before we come to any conclusions.

Amazing... The pessimists like Yardeni when he is gloomy. When he modifies his position, he's accused of having a conflict of interest.

& that has to do what with the above post?

The Yardeni article was plenty gloomy for me.

Yardeni doesn't wasnt to sound too pessimistic. He is about the only person in the banking and brokerage sectors to say anything negative about the effects of y2k. Top management doesn't want to hear too much bearish opinion from their employees. It is bad for business. I admire him for taking the stand that he has, although I personally feel that he is too optismistic.
