Y2K won't be a problem it's . . .

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Y2k won't crash computers . . .

it will be the hackers and cyber-terriorists.

Y2K wont take down the grid or any parts . . .

it will be as a result of solar storms or terriorists.

Y2K won't cause shortages . . .

it will be caused because "those people" (read us) hoarded and bought out precious preps.

Just as with our preps, if the spins are started early enough, all the potential angles and such will be figured out and covered.

If it was y2k the masses of sheeple might wonder why the gov'm't didn't provide the information They might not like the whole of their elected representatives handing them a line. The cover stories are to redirect any anger at those magical "others." We can then allow are esteemed rep's to take our rights away to protect us against all those same straw boogey men.

If you think a long time it seems we get what we pay for...

The primary Y2K problems are going to be with the State Governments, County Governments City Governments medium and small business that all did not fix the problems that the Federal government warned everybody about.
