Been there and done that.

The question remains: who is this reporter (on another thread, someone named him as Gordon MacDonald) what is his motivation, (yes, he's selling a newsletter, but that doesn't necessarily need to be held against him) and how can he be reached?

A quick perusal of the McAlvany Intelligence Report and associated sites reveals a bias upfront. These are obviously Web sites with Christian leanings. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. But as forum regulars on this board have learned through painful experience, it IS necessary to "consider the source" of information prior to judging its value.

More history please on "Gordon," and his organization, as well as McAlvany and HIS, if anyone has it. Thanks.

McDonald) at http://www.audiocentral.com/y2k/y2kreport/default.html and then click on the "show description" for 11/08/99 "Y2K report with Gordon McDonald" you get a narration and some perspectives as well. The guy sounds pretty grounded to me. M

On the other hand...some of those guys were the 666 is the number of the beast (a=1; b=2, etc. COMPUTER adds up to 666). Airs around midnight on Sunday. I thought it was a Saturday Night rerun. M

25 years ago I heard an evangelist talking about the infared scanners being put in stores and a move toward a cashless society, and I said yeah right. Then he went on to talk about the european common market, and I said yeah right.And the micro chip implant. yeah right.

I don't want to lessen the impact of the report mentioned. That is not my intention. I will take the truth anywhere I can get it; and, this particular report (in my opinion) is not outlandish (unless you are just becoming aware of the possible implications of the date change).

I know some of the things mentioned are true. Read the Naval War College's study of possible international scenarios.

I would do a point-by-point study, but I just can't. I don't have time.

I posted this on Cowles' forum and I'll post it here: proceed with caution. Follow the link back to McAlvany's site and you'll find a pitch for gold. Just makes me wish I could find a corroborating account of this event. Actually, the best thing would be for somebody to say it ain't so. Anyway, at this point, the source is suspect.

Thanks to all who listened to the report. I listened to the whole thing, what was it 32 minutes? Several points in it were interesting. In particular, at the end of the report, that clearly panic avoidance had been the plan all long. And also, 70% of defense dept complete, that's probable.

It would be nice to find another source to confirm the story.

I have listened to Gordon McDonald's reports on y2k for more than a year. His real audio site is http://www.audiocentral.com/y2k/y2kreport/default.html

I have found his "updates" to be rational, factually based and without "hype." Although Don McAlvany sells gold and supplies, Gordon was a guest on his show. Gordon has his own "show" and doesn't sell anything. y2k reporting is a part of his "ministry." He has also tackled many of the moral issues of y2k.

People on this forum have told me that my comments are down-to-earth, rational, and factually-based. I would recommend Mr. McDonald's reports to anyone.

Thanks Marsh for the information about Gordon McDonald. I was particularly interested in his observations of openly displayed contradictions at the Symposium.

For me, his most important observation was at about 30 minutes into the report(2 minutes from the end). He said that it was plain that the intention of the administration had been to prevent public panic from the very beginning. That tells a lot about the administration's motivations and the subsequent stonewalling ever since.
