Does MIT know that you censor posts here? Where is Phil?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I hope all of the students who pay tuition to MIT and those that donate funds to MIT know that their money is going into this forum, and that the free expression of ideas is not allowed here.

But the angels are guiding Diane to make the right decisions about censorship. She's from sacred places. She follows a guidance bigger than MIT.

There are reasonable limits to the freedom of speech.

Re-read the history concerning it.

get a life (a real one) oops. I forgot I'm not supposed to feed the trolls

Funny how you didn't complain all those months when Gary North is a Big Fat Idiot board was run on the money from SMU students and donors. BFI is moderated by the inmates, who run off with metaphorical pitchforks anyone with a slightly different view. Look at what was done yesterday--someone whose views did not reflect the BFI orthodoxy was outed in a most spectacular way. His IP was checked and then his employer's web site reproduced on BFI. Now THAT's censorship! You won't catch me posting over there or at Debunky for the same reason.

Nice noise maker. Got anything constructive to say about Y2K? In fact, have you EVER said ANYTHING about Y2K, or just make noise here? <:(=

-- Sysman (y2kboard@yahoo.com), November 10, 1999.

The good old double standard eh, sick? You guys can run your pitchforks; that's ok. But don't let anyone else have a pitchfork. How many times did a do a parade of pollys? It's ok for a to do it but not BFI. I see. Do you remember INVAR's story of JBD? Pretty sick but it got on the site. Freedom of speech doesn't matter what opinion you have; it just ensures you have a right to voice it.

Hey it's back. Why did it disappear to begin with?

-- You Knowwho (debunk@doomeridiots.com), November 10, 1999.

Hey, it was one of your bunch who started this thread, Diarrhea -- a disgustingly grubby pot calling a slightly dusty kettle black. Reproducing someone's employer's website is beyond the pale. You think that guy is gonna come back -- like you keep coming back?

-- Sick (of@you.assholes), November 10, 1999.

Maria, I'm side-lining you for a couple of weeks.

No pay for you.

YouKnowWho - If a temporary 'missing' post sets you off that much, you are going to be a real basket case come Jan 1,2000 when things start breaking down in earnest ... LOL

I wish MIT would call K. Eric Drexler on behalf of the population and ask simply, "Where's the nano boxes?"

Hey it's back. Why did it disappear to begin with? HAVE WE GOT A HACKER, HEAVY HANDED CENSOR, Y2K PROBLEMS OR WHAT?

Too funny...!

-- Dancr (addy.available@my.webpage), November 11, 1999.

Naw, typical polly.

Why on earth do you guys think Phil would care what gets [snipped] or not on this TBY2K Forum?

It's privately Moderated and volunteer Sysoped and publicly accessible with guidelines posted.

What's "wrong" with that?

*Sheesh*
