I fail to see how almost anyone could consider that there will be more than an 80% (of current) supply of oil products available after the first month or so... Rationing is highly likely, as are much higher fuel prices. I realize that my estimate of (up to) 80% is optimistic...

Thanks for posting those sites, Tania. Checked out the first one, OUCH! Tried telling my husband about this "possibility" but he threw up his hands with "so what can we do about it? Nothing, right?" Anyone have ideas how to go about researching the validity of the statements made by DD in the dialogue posted?

Tania, Thanks for the site postings. The first is 22 pages, the second is 4 pages and has been given already on GN's site. The first, longer one is enough to depress a person in itself; the implications are HUGE! If DD is checking this thread, I hope she responds...could the majors be that comatose about such a huge risk? Either way, anyway, I still think it's a good time to get ahorse. Or a team, better yet. Business ideas, livery stables in suburban and rural areas, bike retail and repair in urban?

I think bicycle sales and repair shops are good post-Y2K bets. My brother is looking into getting a moped (sp). They are all over Europe.
