This is a site put out by the Miter Corp. They do many projects with the govt but have recently put up a Y2k web site which is amazing.

These folks reek with credibility.

Here is their mission statement

"The MITRE Corporation Our Mission In partnership with government clients, MITRE is a not-for-profit corporation working in the public interest. I stumbled upon it about 2 months ago and they did not have available some of the things that are listed. Some of the stuff had password only, and I was not able to get into the site maps. Intersting reading....

From Y2K Links on mitre.org

"1-800-THERAPIST Network has designated the first day of each month Y2K Anxiety Day. Those afflicted are invited to call 1-800-843-7274 and vent, for free. A psychotherapist will be standing by, donating time to "help relieve fear and calm hysteria."

mitre is non profit (which means they do want to make serious money but then they roll it back into the company) but they also make money on the govt. be careful about putting all your credibility eggs in one basket. trust me--they don't want to lose govt money because they say the wrong thing any more than any of the R&D labs do.
