All Pollyannas Have Tacitly Agreed To Join A Blood Pact

Webster defines the word tacit this way: 1) expressed or carried on without words or speech, 2) implied or indicated but not actually expressed, (tacit consent), 3) arising without expressed contract or agreement.

Those who have not prepared, by now, surely must know there is potential danger ahead. The warnings have been expressed. Certainly the warnings could have been much clearer, louder, persistent and spoken with more authority. But they are there as a warning for anyone to heed.

A prudent person must decide for himself how he will deal with a warning of impending danger. Many have chosen to ignore those warnings of danger. They have sacrificed their right to choose their own course for the comfort of inaction and denial.

No two people may see the storm clouds the same way. Some may look out at the storm and see someone else getting pounded by torrential rain and washed away by floods. Or they may look out at the storm and see farmers crops being flattened by baseball sized hail stones, a seasons crops ruined. Or they may look out at the storm and see power lines sparking as a mighty wind blows them about.

No two people will even come close to agreeing on the danger of the storm to themselves. Until they look in the mirror and see the storm around them.

The storm is going to be someone elses problem.

But they think they will be all right, because none of their friends seem concerned yet. They joke about the weather. They talk about anything but fear. They know as long as they stick together that that storm wont hurt them. They dont have to say it, they just know it. They tacitly accept it.

But what if the dangerous storm ahead could be deadly?

They dont worry because they have all entered into an unspoken agreement to stand together, faces strong to the wind. None afraid, standing tall together. They agreed to a blood pact, all for one and one for all, never fearing the raging storm enough to seek shelter or protection.

And what if the storm turns against them?

They will stand unprepared.

Where do you and I stand?

We are the chosen ones. It's the only explaination I could come up with. I sorta like it. ;-)

Kritter is correct. We are chosen to survive. The storm will very likely kill the pollies who were too stupid to prepare, but those of us who have heeded the warnings will survive.

Y2K pro, make sure you write this one down and save it with the rest of the lunacy that has been posted here over the last year or so. It's definately a keeper. I'm surprised GN hasn't come up with something this basic and fundamentally stupid yet.

I must have struck a familiar note.

Is this the level to which the (already) pathetic drivel has sunk?

Really.

How's about that link to the message about the doomers standing around consuming the spit-cooked corpses of the pollies? It's appropriate here.

-- kritter (kritter@adelphia.net), November 05, 1999.

No, Y2K Pro, you are not WORTHY to hold it up to Hoff's. Now, with Deano, that is a different story. But definitely DO NOT hold it up to Andy Ray's, you might get infected with one of those Cellblock D diseases ....
