Gov't prep bullitin

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

When I left the country a couple of weeks ago, it was my understanding that the gubmint was sending out a booklet or bulletin on prepping to every household. Have they done this? No one I know has received one.

Taz,

Don't know the answer. I just wanted to say Welcome Back!

i heard some agency folks talking about it yesterday. so there must be something coming. if it is anything like the ones that came after i ordered some prep materials from the y2k.gov bulletin board it will say, "get a half tank of gas, keep all your money and securities right where they are, and trust us for the rest."

I posted a link to it a couple of days ago. It got lost in troll responses.

I had a phone conversation with John Koskinen yesterday and told him what I thought of it. (I was one of several people given the opportunity to speak on a conference call.)

You will find the new brochures at:

http://www.y2k.gov/java/consumerinfo.html

They will tell you that everything is just peachy and go buy some stuff for a long weekend. cheese and crakers, maybe. How about some champagne?

Hi, I just received a tape from the US Govt called "Preparing for the Challenge" Will view it tonight and post my opinion tomorrow.

Taz and Sally,

Kosky claimed that he "got this out" when he testified to the House subcommittee.

This checklist is a joke. PA's, as polly as it is, is MUCH better.

Of course, I learned more the first time I visited Sally's site than I could ever learn at the above link.

Thanks for your help Sally!
