I-695 fallout in Shoreline

greenspun.com : LUSENET : I-695 Thirty Dollar License Tab Initiative : One Thread

The Shoreline city council passed a new "utility tax" that was set up to take effect when I-695 passed. Funny thing uis they didn't send out the press release on this until AFTER the Nov. 2nd election. The tax is 6% on all cell phone, cable TV, water, sewer and electric bills. This will add about $10/month to the average consumer's budget.

It isn't that much money, but it riles me to think the city council would do such a thing. I guess we'll have a new set of faces sitting at the city council table after the next elections!

To all you Shoreline residents out there... remember what the council did and vote them out at the earliest possible time! And make sure you let them know how you feel! The phone number is (206) 546-1303. Their e-mail address is CMO@ci.shoreline.wa.us

The Kenmore city council did the same thing but it was $12 here. I called the city manager and all he could say, "look how much you are saving on car license tabs" and on and on. These are the people we need to vote out on the next election!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe y'all should move to Scandinavia and start paying some REAL taxes.

"Maybe y'all should move to Scandinavia and start paying some REAL taxes. " Been there. There IS a reason that there are more people of Scandinavian ancestry living in other countries than remain in Scandinavia.
