I have been a b/w photograper for 30 years and it took me awhile to learn that in back lit subjects you must pick what it is you want to have detail, the clouds, or the tree and ground. You must do your Personal Exposure Index test to see what your film is doing with the equipment your using, otherwise you have flat 18% gray without detail in any part of the photo. I would suggest doing your tests and reshooting at the indicated E.I., remember that the print test is vital to getting the tones you want for b/w subjects. Pat
