Why do WE have to pay for legal defense?

I-695 is now state law. Why doesn't that state attorney general have the responsibility to enforce this law and defend it in court? Why should the YES on I-695 committee have to defend I-695 in court?

Tim Eyman had a great answer for this on the radio this morning. Yes, the attorney general is obligated to defend the initiative, but we know "her heart will not really be in it." The plan is to use the same counsel that successfully defended I-601 and I-200.

The attorney general was obligated to defend the paycheck protection provision too. She couldn't roll over fast enough on that one.
