Whatcom County tows party line

greenspun.com : LUSENET : I-695 Thirty Dollar License Tab Initiative : One Thread

We have a county auditor (a left wing partisan democrat) who I believe is corrupt down to her toes. We have had lost ballots, misplaced ballots and overall suspicious activity out of her office for years. She hasn't done the requisite audits on county departments. Of the expected 700+ audits expected during her 12 years in office, she has only done 8.

Someone finally ran against her saying he would do the required audits (of sheriff, fire department, public works, etc. etc) and guess what? His house burned down 4 days before the election.

Whatcom County is one of a handful of counties where I-695 lost and I think the elections here have been rigged for years. This just illustrates it.

It is understandable when the Peoples Republic of Seattle votes NO, but why are some of the rural counties voting NO? Grays Harbor County which is heavily Democratic, voted 62% YES. But then again we have an excellent county auditor and a squeaky clean ballot handling process.

Sounds an awful lot like the Pierce County auditor Kathy Persall- Stipek (sp?) There have been reports of remarking of ballots and other shenanagins under her watch. She even lied about having a college degree - she claimed to be a UW graduate when in fact she wasn't.

Kathy Persall - she claimed to be a UW graduate when in fact she wasn't.
